I built Karmik because the job hunt broke me first.
I graduated in November 2025 — straight into mass layoffs, hiring freezes, and application portals that felt like a black hole. A software developer with no software developer job, watching the savings I'd ringfenced for “post-graduation life” turn into rent and instant noodles.
Applying manually was a productivity scam: an hour to rewrite the same cover letter for the twelfth time, guessing which keywords to inject, uploading a resume that got auto-rejected for saying “managed” instead of “led.” Three weeks of that bought me two callbacks and zero interviews.
So one weekend I wrote a few ugly scripts — read the job, feed it to a model with my resume, write a tailored cover letter, and apply in the background while I went to the gym. In a week, I had an offer.
