🆕 Changelog

Karmik changelog

Every desktop app release, newest first. If you already have Karmik, it updates itself the next time you open it. If it has not, download the latest version and install it over the top. Only if you are still on 3.0 on Windows, uninstall it first.

Key takeaways

  1. Skips the jobs that are not a fit, before it writes a word.

Clearly different work, or jobs only open to citizens or permanent residents when you are not one. Skipped jobs are under Not a fit in My jobs, and Apply by link still applies to any of them.

  2. Find any application you have ever sent, in seconds.

My jobs searches by job title or company, filters by All, Active, Applied, Needs review, Not a fit and Archived, and sorts by date, company or title.

  3. See exactly what every run sent, and when.

The Run log keeps every run with its results and its full activity.

  4. Apply to jobs from the last 3, 7, 14 or 30 days.

Fewer days means fewer people applied before you; more days finds more when a search is quiet.

Current versions

  • Mac: 5.0.0, Apple Silicon (M1 or later), macOS 13.5 or later. Updates itself on next open.
  • Windows: 5.0.0, Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Updates itself on next open. If it has not, run the latest installer over the top: profiles, jobs and settings are kept. On 3.0, uninstall it first.
  • Free plan: 10 free generations, no card. Each tailored resume uses one extra credit.

Karmik 5.0.0

8 October 2026. Available now for Mac and Windows. If you already have Karmik, it updates itself the next time you open it.

A whole new look

Karmik has been redesigned from top to bottom: a cleaner layout, a sidebar that feels at home on your computer, and a live view of what the Karmik agent is doing while it applies for you.

Smarter job matching

Before Karmik writes a single cover letter, it reads each new job and skips the ones that are clearly a different kind of work, or that are only open to citizens or permanent residents when your details say you are not one. It only skips clear cases, and if the check cannot run, every job goes ahead as before. Skipped jobs are listed under Not a fit in My jobs, and you can still apply to any of them with Apply by link.

More applications from every search

Karmik now looks at more jobs than it needs, so the ones that are not a fit are replaced by ones that are. Any extra jobs it finds are kept for your next run.

A tailored resume for every Recommended job

Seek's recommendations cover a wider range of roles than a search, so a Recommended run now rewrites your resume for each job it applies to, using only what is already in your resume. On the free plan, each tailored resume uses one extra credit.

Search all your applications

My jobs now handles thousands of applications. Search by job title or company, or turn on "Search inside letters and answers". Filter by All, Active, Applied, Needs review, Not a fit and Archived, and sort by date applied, date found, company or title. Clear applied now moves jobs to Archived, with their cover letters and resumes kept.

Run log

Every run is kept with its results and its full activity, so you can see exactly what was sent and when. When a run ends, a summary shows what it found and sent.

Search further back

Choose how far back to search: 3, 7, 14 or 30 days.

More reliable applications

Forms with several tick-box questions are answered in full, a question Karmik cannot find on the form no longer holds up the whole application, and a dropped internet connection during a search keeps the jobs already found. Retry failed now covers every job in Needs review.

Karmik 4.0.1

23 September 2026. Out now for Mac and Windows. If you already have Karmik on your Mac, it updates itself the next time you open it. On Windows, download 4.0.1 and run the installer. Your saved profiles and settings are kept.

A tailored resume for every job

Turn on "Tailored resume for each job" and Karmik rewrites your resume for each role you apply to, using only what is already in your resume, and sends it with your cover letter. If a rewrite cannot be checked against your own resume, your uploaded resume is sent instead, so no application is ever held up. Included on paid plans. On the free plan each tailored resume uses one extra credit.

Job profiles

Looking for more than one kind of work? Keep a separate profile for each, for example one for customer service and one for IT support, each with its own target role, resume, pitch and pay expectations. Switch between them in one click, right before you start a run.

Choose how far back to search

Search jobs from the last 3 days, to be among the first to apply, or the last 7 days, to find more when your search is quiet.

Apply only now sends every ready job

Apply only applies to all the jobs you have ready, not just the number set for new searches. The progress bar now always shows the real number of jobs going out, including for Apply by link.

Runs keep going

One job that fails no longer ends a run. Karmik skips it and carries on to the next one.

Easier profile answers

Salary, hourly rate and years of experience now use sliders, with a box you can type in or paste into. Anything not answered yet is clearly marked "Not set".

Stays signed in to SEEK

Fixes a problem on Mac where some people were asked to sign in to SEEK on every run after updating.

Smoother applications

Screening questions with a dropdown are answered more reliably, and your settings are saved the moment you change them.

Karmik 4.0.0

16 September 2026. The biggest update since launch, for Mac and Windows. If you already have Karmik on your Mac, it updates itself the next time you open it. On Windows it is a fresh install, see below.

Runs finish, however long they take

Karmik used to interrupt long runs with a sign-in prompt after about an hour. That is gone. Start a run and it goes all the way to the end.

Apply by link

Already found the job you want? Paste one or more Seek links into the new Apply by link tab and Karmik applies to exactly those jobs, cover letter and screening answers included.

Ask me first

A new optional mode that pauses each application on the review page so you can check and edit it before it is sent. It is off by default and lives in Settings.

10 free generations

Every account now includes 10 free generations. One generation covers the cover letter and the screening answers for one job, and retries never cost extra.

Opens in a second

Karmik now opens almost instantly. The first open after installing or updating takes a little longer, once.

Clean uninstall

A new Uninstall Karmik option in the sidebar removes the app and everything it saved in one step, with a confirmation first.

Dozens of reliability fixes

Fewer interruptions on slower Macs, better handling when Seek changes its pages, clearer messages when a job needs your attention, and bug reports that include what we need to help you quickly.

Windows users

The Windows build is not signed yet, so it cannot update itself. Uninstall Karmik 3.0 from Windows Settings, download 4.0, and run the installer. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning; choose More info, then Run anyway. Your account and resume are unaffected.
